1. Use one strand of yarn (working cord) to tie a series of half hitches around the other strands (holding cords).
2. To tie a half hitch, pass the working cord (most left) over and then under the holding cords, followed by over itself to form a loop.
3. Repeat the half hitches several times to result in a spiral. Push up the knots as you progress to ensure that they are close together.
