PATTERN NOTES
This pattern is worked on the round and in one color, feel free to use a contrast color for the pompom.
BEGIN
CO 90 sts in long tail cast on method, join in the round, placing the marker at the beginning of the round. Work k1, p1 rib for 9 rounds.
CONTINUE
Round 1: *k5, p1, k4* rep from * to * until the end of the round.
Round 2: *k5, p1, k4* rep from * to * until the end of the round.
Round 3: *k4, p3, k3* rep from * to * until the end of the round.
Round 4: *k4, p3, k3* rep from * to * until the end of the round.
Round 5: *k3, p5, k2* rep from * to * until the end of the round.
Round 6: *k3, p5, k2* rep from * to * until the end of the round.
Round 7: *k2, p7, k1* rep from * to * until the end of the round.
Round 8: *k2, p7, k1* rep from * to * until the end of the round.
Round 9: *k1, p9* rep from * to * until the end of the round.
Round 10: *k1, p9* rep from * to * until the end of the round.
Rep rounds 1 to 10 five times more or until your hat measures approx. 24cm[9.5”] high.
END
In next round k3tog all the way around, you will have 30 sts left at the end of the round. Then, k2tog for the whole round. You will have 15 sts left at the end of the round.
Cut the yarn leaving enough to pull through the sts with a tapestry needle and pull to close. Weave in with a few sts. And your hat is ready!
