Instructions
Begin
Ch 4, work sl st in 1st ch to form a circle.

Continue
Round 1:  Ch 2, work 12 dc into circle, sl st in top of 1st dc to join. You now have 12 stitches. 
Round 2:  Ch 2, work 2 dc in each stitch, sl st to join. You now have 24 stitches. 
Round 3:  Ch 2, work 2 dc in 1st dc, 1 dc in next stitch. *[2 dc in next stitch, 1 dc in next stitch] repeat * 11 times, sl st to join. You now have 36 stitches. 
Round 4:  Ch 2, work 2 dc in 1st dc, 1 dc in next 2 stitches. *[2 dc in next stitch, 1 dc in next 2 stitch] repeat * 11 times, sl st to join. You now have 48 stitches. 
Round 5:  Ch 2, work 2 dc in 1st dc, 1 dc in next 3 stitches, *[2 dc in next stitch, 1 dc in next 3 stitches] repreat * 11 times, sl st to join. You now have 60 stitches. 
Round 6:  Ch 2, work 2 dc in 1st dc, 1 dc in next 4 stitches. *[2 dc in next stitch, 1 dc in next 4 stitches] repeat * 11 times, sl st to join. You now have 72 stitches.
Round 7:  Ch 4, skip 1st stitch, dc, *[ch 2, skip next stitch, dc] repeat * until end of round, ch 2, sl st into 2nd ch.
Round 8: Ch 6 (place stitch marker). *[skip next space, sc into next space, ch 6} repeat * until end of round, sc into 1st ch 6 space.
Rounds 9-20:  Continue working *[ch 6, sc into next space] repeat * until you have reached the end of round 20 (or until the bag is close to the height you want). Ch 6, sc into next space. Mark that ch space.
Round 21:  Ch 4, work dc in next space, *[ch 2, dc in next space] repeat * until end of round. Ch 2, sl st into base of ch 4.
Round 22:  Ch 1 (place stitch marker), *[3 sc in next space, 1 sc in top of dc] repeat * around until the last space. Work repeat over both horizontal chains (marked ch space and horizontal ch above it). Sl st to marked ch.
Round 23:  Ch 1, work sc in 1st stitch, mark stitch, sc in each stitch around. Bind off and weave in ends.
Round 24:  Ch 1, work sc in 1st st and in each stitch around, sl st into top of 1st sc.
Round 25:  Ch 1, work sc in 1st st and each stitch around, sl st into top of 1st sc.

Continue for strap
Ch 1, work sc in same st, ch 60. Find opposite side of bag, go back 4 stitches. Ensuring not to twist, join with sl st.

Sc in same stitch, ch 1, turn, work 1 sc back across. Join with sl st. Sc in same stitch. Sc in next stitch.

Work 2 more rows of sc for the strap. Each time joining to the next stitch on the opposite side of bag with a sl st and a sc. Sc in next stitch before starting the return back. 

For extra durability, sl st back across strap. Sl st to join. Bind off and weave in ends.
